The Caduceus of Hermes is a staff around which two snakes intertwined that reunite forming an arch at the top. Originally it was a simple wand donated by Apollo to Hermes, in exchange for his lyre, but Hermes used it to separate two snakes fighting each other. After that gesture they went to twist around the stick and remained there, forming the caduceus which thus became a symbol of peace. ’therefore provided symbolically, the right to appease the anger and violence. The two snakes can be antagonistic and complementary energies, feminine / masculine, day / night, active / passive, yin / yang, which penetrate arranging themselves around a central axis represented by the stick.
